ORU PAKKA KATHAI is an annual initiative by Rotary eClub of Coimbatore Changemakers in association with Arivukeni in the backdrop of Coimbatore Book Festival.

This short story competition is organised in a digital manner exclusively for college students of Coimbatore provides an opportunity for them to hone their story telling skills and Tamil writing skills.

We plan to publish the best stories once every four years. It would help us introduce these story tellers to the world and also help runds for Rotary’s fight against polio. The event started in 2022 has crossed foursuccessful editions inviting a total of 1100 stories from as many students. This event is conducted completely in digital mode eliminating the need of papers and postage.

We are thankful to all our participants, supporters and sponsors for making it a hassle free event. We are happy to bring a small change in Tamil writing and reading scenario among college students of Coimbatore. We seek your wishes ideas and support as we keep progressing with this idea.

ஒரு பக்கக் கதை என்பது கோயம்புத்தூர் புத்தகக் திருவிழாவின் பின்னணியில், ‘அறிவுகேணி’ அமைப்போடு இணைந்து ‘ரோட்டரி இ-கிளப் ஆஃப் கோயம்புத்தூர் சேஞ்ச்மேக்கர்ஸ்’ நடத்தும் ஓர் வருடாந்திர முயற்சியாகும்.

இந்தச் சிறுகதைப் போட்டி கோயம்புத்தூர் கல்லூரி மாணவர்களுக்காக பிரத்யேகமாக டிஜிட்டல் முறையில் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. இது அவர்களின் கதை சொல்லும் திறனையும், தமிழ் எழுத்தாற்றலையும் மேம்படுத்துவதற்கான ஒரு நல்வாய்ப்பை வழங்குகிறது.

சிறந்த கதைகளை ஆறு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ஒருமுறை புத்தகமாக வெளியிடத் திட்டமிட்டுள்ளோம். இந்த புத்தகத்தின் மூலம் இந்தத் திறமையான கதைசொல்லிகளை உலகிற்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்த உதவுவதோடு, போலியோவுக்கு எதிரான ரோட்டரியின் போராட்டத்திற்கான நிதித் திரட்டலுக்கும் பங்களிக்கும்.

2022-ஆம் ஆண்டு தொடங்கப்பட்ட இந்நிகழ்வு, தற்போது நான்கு வெற்றிகரமான பதிப்புகளைக் கடந்து, 1200-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவர்களிடமிருந்து அத்தனை கதைகளை ஈர்த்துள்ளது. இந்த நிகழ்வு முற்றிலும் டிஜிட்டல் முறையில் நடத்தப்படுவதால், காகிதங்கள் மற்றும் அஞ்சல் செலவுகளுக்கான தேவை இல்லாமல் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்நிகழ்வை எந்தவொரு இடையூறுமின்றி வெற்றிகரமாக நடத்திக் கொடுத்த எங்களது பங்கேற்பாளர்கள், ஆதரவாளர்கள் மற்றும் கொடையாளர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் எங்களது நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். கோயம்புத்தூர் கல்லூரி மாணவர்களிடையே தமிழ் எழுத்து மற்றும் வாசிப்புச் சூழலில் ஒரு சிறிய மாற்றத்தை ஏற்படுத்த முயற்சிப்பதில் நாங்கள் பெருமகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறோம். இந்தத் திட்டத்தை நோக்கி நாங்கள் தொடர்ந்து முன்னேறிச் செல்ல, உங்களது வாழ்த்துகளையும், யோசனைகளையும், ஆதரவையும் நாடுகிறோம்.
